What is Gas Liquid Chromatography?

It can be used in different areas in different ways and by using it you can analyze the quality and quantity of good results in less time. Mainly this method is used to check the quality of oil and to check its leakage samples. Gas Liquid Chromatography (GLC) is especially useful for the analysis of medicinal chemicals and petroleum products, as well as in the analysis of various science branches such as biochemistry, food chemistry and industrial chemicals. GLC is also used in modern industrial applications, such as for fire protection in the construction industry and for thermal paint requirements in residential electronics. GLC is a very sensitive method, which can be used to achieve different analysis results.

How does Gas Liquid Chromatography work?

To analyze a sample via GLC, it is inserted into a cylinder box that is filled with a gas. This is now mixed with the gas sample and prepared at a certain temperature. On heating, this allows specific types of liquids in the sample to vaporize.

Next, the gas mixed sample is sent to a green column loaded with a specific type of thermal chemical. Different liquids in the sample move at different speeds in this column due to their specific characteristics. These liquids then reach a incinerator which analyzes them in a specific way and separates them for their identification as separate products.

The basic principle of GLC is determined according to the maximum thermal application of the fluids. According to the thermal application, there are three different types of gas liquid chromatography: high pressure gas liquid chromatography (HPGLC), medium pressure gas liquid chromatography (MPGLC) and low pressure gas liquid chromatography (LPGLC).
