The Best Strollers of 2023

Over the last decade, we’ve reviewed over 85 strollers in a variety of categories, including jogging, lightweight, umbrella, double, luxury, and travel systems.

Throughout those tests, we discovered an amazing set of strollers that we believe you will enjoy! Each of the best strollers we’ve found is classified below by its primary capability, with results summarized for quality, ease of use, comfort, and durability.

Please keep in mind that these are all 5-star rated because they are the best of our annual stroller round-up articles. After we go over each of them, make sure to check out the others on the annual best-of lists.

While some of the strollers we tested were truly awful, others were truly excellent, and we can’t wait to tell you all about them! The strollers that make the top of our lists are of exceptional quality, durability, ease of use, and comfort.

We all fell in love with these strollers, and you don’t have to take our word for it; ask around and you’ll discover that these are consistently some of the best strollers on the market – and parents love them!

Here are the Best Strollers of 2023!

UppaBaby Cruz: Best All-Around Stroller

The UppaBaby Vista stroller, UppaBaby’s high-end stroller with multi-child support and a bassinet, is well-known to most parents.

The UppaBaby Cruz offers all of the Vista’s “compact without compromise” excellence, but without the bassinet adapter (sold separately) or the ability to accommodate multiple children (though you can purchase a standing PiggyBack adapter). You get all of the style, maneuverability, versatility, and quality, but not the multi-child versatility or the exorbitant price tag.

In terms of specifications, the Cruz can accommodate babies from birth if you add the optional bassinet (around $200) or SnugSeat infant attachment (about $50, essentially an infant positioner). All-wheel suspension, one-handed 5-position seat recline, adjustable telescoping leather handlebar, a huge zip-out canopy extension, a height-adjustable canopy (amazing! ), a massive storage basket, and reversible seat are just a few of the features.

Everything is well-thought-out, from the easy-access basket to the super-easy folding, the ability to stand on its own when folded, and the simple recline and canopy adjustments. The canopy extension is incredible in and of itself because it zips out from where the parent is standing rather than from the front.

It’s the little details that set the Cruz apart from the crowd, and the gorgeous styling doesn’t hurt either! We’ve driven the Cruz at least 100 times over the last decade, and the Cruz V2 is truly outstanding: highly maneuverable, comfortable seating fabric and position, and an overall super smooth ride.

Everything feels, looks, and performs well. We wouldn’t expect anything less for a hefty $650 plus accessories! If you have the funds, it is well worth the price.

Mockingbird Single-to-Double: Best Newcomer!

Earlier this year, we received the new Mockingbird Single-to-Double stroller for testing (thank you, Mockingbird!) and were blown away by its quality and versatility. Mockingbird is disrupting the stroller market by introducing a stroller that is nearly as versatile as the UppaBaby Vista V2 but costs less than half as much and is available directly to consumers!

The beauty of this Mockingbird stroller is not only in its appearance; it also has a lot of versatility. When they have their first child, most parents will use it as a single stroller. It can be used with an infant in three ways: with an infant car seat attachment (sold separately for $30), with a bassinet carriage (sold separately for $140), or with an infant insert (sold separately for $30).

The infant car seat attachment will work perfectly for most parents, and it is compatible with the majority of major car seat brands (Britax, Chicco, UppaBaby, Graco, etc). Your baby will be ready to use the toddler seat, which can be configured in a front-facing or rear-facing position, when they are about 4-6 months old.

Even with one (or all!) of these adapters, the Mockingbird is 40-50% less expensive than its nearest competitor! As an added bonus, you can buy an awesome bassinet stand to use the Mockingbird bassinet both on the go and at home! See our full Mockingbird bassinet stand review for more information.

When your second child arrives, the Single-to-Double stroller truly lives up to its name! Because of its unique modular design, the toddler seat can be configured alongside an infant car seat, bassinet carriage, or an additional toddler seat (purchased separately, $120) in over 19 different ways, providing serious double stroller versatility.

Not only is this stroller versatile, but it also performed well in our tests (see our full hands-on Mockingbird Single-to-Double Stroller Review!). We also found it to be smooth (with seat and frame suspension), maneuverable, and simple to adjust and fold. It also has all the right features, including an adjustable handlebar, reclining and nearly lay-flat seat, large storage basket, one-handed fold, a large and spill-resistant canopy with peek-a-boo window, and more!

For the price, we believe this stroller is poised to make a significant impact on the stroller scene, bringing style, sophistication, and versatility within most parents’ price range! Mockingbird recently updated their 2nd seat kit so that an infant car seat and toddler seat can be positioned in more versatile ways – specifically, you can now position the toddler seat up front in a forward-facing position even when an infant car seat is attached!

Cons? Just a few examples. Taller parents may find the rear axle too far back, potentially disrupting their normal stride, and the wheels are too small in diameter for rough terrain (or a bit of snow or sand). In addition, like the Vista, it’s quite large and cumbersome when used with two toddler seats.

Babyzen YOYO2: Best Travel Stroller

We received the Babyzen YOYO2 for testing late last year and were blown away by its lightweight construction, compact fold, high quality components, and beautiful styling. It’s a small stroller designed for jet-setting parents who want to be able to fold their stroller into a small bag and even fit it into an airplane overhead bin.

The Babyzen YOYO2 travel stroller is ideal for this task, providing surprising comfort and versatility for such a light (about 13 pounds) and compact (folds to 20.5″ x 17″ x 7″) stroller.

We liked the multi-position recline, large waterproof and sun-protective canopy (with peek-a-boo window), and the wide weight range in our testing (from 6 months unless you gett eh bassinet or newborn pack accessories, and up to nearly 50 pounds).

Everything was simple to use: the folding and unfolding are smooth and effective, all adjustments are high quality and intuitive, and the stroller is extremely maneuverable and easy to fit through small spaces.

Overall, we had few complaints; the only one we could think of was the somewhat unintuitive folding and unfolding process. Aside from that, we believe the Babyzen YOYO2 is the clear winner of the best travel stroller of the year!

Who else is smitten with this stroller? WhatToExpect, Babygearlab, and The Wirecutter all agree it’s a top pick!

Bugaboo Fox 3: Best Luxury Stroller

The Bugaboo Fox 3 is distinguished by its superior style, quality, brand recognition, durability, and versatility. It is truly beautiful not only in appearance but also in the manner in which everything works: its adjustments, wheels, turning radius, and attachments.

The Bugaboo Fox includes not only the typical toddler seat, but also a super comfortable bassinet suitable for use from newborn onwards. The toddler seat is suitable for use from 3 months and has a weight capacity of nearly 50 pounds (48.5).

In our experience, your child will outgrow this stroller in terms of height and width long before reaching the maximum weight limit. The folding is one of the coolest features of this stroller: the first fold reduces it to an 18″ x 24″ x 35″ self-standing fold, and a second fold reduces it to 8″ x 21″ x 26″, which competes with even the ZOE for compact size and portability!

Of course, this isn’t a light stroller, weighing in at around 21 pounds, but that’s to be expected given the high quality components, such as the large wheels, reversible seat (that can detach and stand on its own! ), adjustable leather handlebars, comfortable fabric and padding, and large basket. The Bugaboo fox is compatible with the Nuna Pipa, Chicco KeyFit, Britax B-Safe, Maxi-Cosi Mico, Peg Perego Primo Viaggio, and Cybex Aton and Cloud infant seats.

While this is a single stroller, you can purchase a separate standing rider board to attach to the back, just like the UppaBaby Cruz. Overall, this is a superb and beautiful stroller, but we can only justify listing it on our best luxury strollers list given its cost of about $1200. Eek!

BOB Revolution Flex 3.0: Best Jogging Stroller

The BOB Alterrain and Alterrain Pro (new in 2020), the BOB Rambler, and the BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 are all fantastic jogging strollers from BOB Gear.

The Alterrain Pro ($600) is the most expensive of the bunch, with a truly amazing suspension system for trail running and a hand-brake, followed by the Revolution Flex 3.0 ($500), which we believe is the best all-around jogging stroller, and finally the BOB Rambler ($400).

All three of their main offerings are truly incredible, though most parents will not require the extra heft and capability of the Alterrain Pro model (though it does look incredible!).

A good jogging stroller should have leg swing space (to accommodate a long stride while running), adjustable handlebars, wrist tether, locking front wheel, large diameter and low-resistance wheels and tires, high stability forward-tracking, and storage to keep things off your body.

You can check all of those boxes because the BOB Revolution does not skimp on any of those features!

The only thing it lacks is a handbrake to slow down a descent, which requires an upgrade to the Alterrain model.

One of the best things about this jogging stroller is that it has all of the jogging features while also having great basic stroller features like no-rethread harness height, a large storage basket, a nice-sized canopy, five different pockets, a peek-a-boo window, high maneuverability, a super smooth ride, an easy foot brake, one-handed recline adjustment, and near-flat recline.

There are also some nice details, such as the seat having small ventilation slots to aid airflow in the summer heat, a comfortable handlebar, an easy buckle/unbuckle harness, and smooth folding. It’s a jogging stroller, so it doesn’t fold up very small, but it’s not bad at 38″ x 25″ x 16″ with wheels on, or 35″ x 20″ x 10″ with wheels removed.

Overall, we’ve spent hundreds of hours jogging with the Revolution Flex 3.0 and have nothing but positive things to say about it!

Bugaboo Donkey 5 Duo: Best Double Stroller

The Bugaboo Donkey 5 is not only one of the best luxury strollers available, but it is also the best double stroller on the market! The Bugaboo’s side-by-side design prioritizes comfort, visibility, and parent convenience while maintaining a relatively narrow profile of only about 29″ wide.

But don’t be fooled by its small size; this stroller can support up to 49 pounds per seat, with additional weight in the large lower basket! The Bugaboo Donkey Duo has many of the best features you’ll want, such as adjustable handlebar height, an infant bassinet included, reversible seats, large canopies with peek-a-boo windows, pockets, suspension, and a few other extras.

There’s also a toddler seat that can stand on its own and zippered pockets for your belongings.

The Bugaboo Donkey 5’s style certainly draws attention, and we fell in love with not only its beauty, but also its maneuverability and versatility.

The craftsmanship is exceptional, the seats are extremely comfortable, and the fabrics are of the highest quality. Its smooth operation and folding contribute to the unique combination of luxury, comfort, usability, and versatility.

The Bugaboo Donkey 5 stroller improves on the previous Donkey 3 by providing a higher seating position, mesh bassinet panels for airflow, a new harness system, and additional convenience accessories. Cons? Well, the price is probably out of reach for some parents! Overall, if you have the money and want an excellent double stroller (or single stroller! ), this is the best option.
