Laws of Exponent
At the end of the lesson, you should be able to:
- Simplify monomials using laws of Exponents.
- Multiply numbers in exponential form.
- Divide numbers in exponential form.
The power of Exponents
Exponents are used in Science, where they often appear as powers called scientific notation.
People use exponents to describe how much money they make when they sell something. Exponents are involved in buying a house, a car, or taking out a loan.
They are used to describe acid rain and to determine the pH level of the water. Exponents are also used to show how strong an earthquake is (magnitude), how loud a sound is (decibel level), and how bright the stars are (magnitude of a star).
