One of the best foreign scholarships for Pakistani students and Azad Jammu and Kashmir is Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme (2022-23) announced by The Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The Hungarian Government scholarship programme is for Bachelor's, One-Tier Master's, Master's, and PhD, studies.

Who will be nominating for this programme? 

The body said "HEC is the only nominating agency in subject scholarship programme,". Before describing the eligibility criteria it’s reminded that online applications will be accepted till 2pm (PST) January 17, 2022. Furthermore, applicants are advised by the HEC to submit online Application completely under separate portal for Hungry, without waiting for the deadline.

Eligibility criteria:

1. Pakistan/AJ&K citizenship is mandatory.
2. Age for Undergraduate programs is 18-22 years. The upper age limit for students applying in Masters degree programs should not exceed from 35 years. For PhD students, upper age limit should not exceed from 40 years considered on the day of deadline of application.
3. For Undergraduate Program the applicant must have completed HSSC/Intermediate or equivalent for being eligible in Bachelor's and One-Tier Master's degree i.e. DVM, D Pharm etc.
4. For Postgraduate Program the applicant must have completed 16 years education for application in Masters.
5. The candidate must have 18 years of education for application in PhD Program.
6. The candidate must fill the Hungary application form appropriately and HEC application form and no column should be left empty.
7. All the documents to be attached must be attested by the attesting authorities (IBCC and HEC). Equivalence of O & A level from IBCC is mandatory.
8. Student(s) applying for any professional degree (Medical, Engineering, Nursing, Architecture, Law, Veterinary Medicine etc.) are solely responsible for getting accreditation from the respective Councils i.e. Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC), Pakistan Council for Architects and Town Planners (PCATP), Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), Pakistan Technology Council (PTC) etc.
9. IELTS/TOEFL scores where applicable by the body.
10. Satisfactory health conditions for all applicants is necessary for its certification must submit medical certificate that prove the applicant does not have any of the following illnesses: AIDS, Hepatitis A, B, C or any other epidemic conditions (certificate issuance date must not be earlier than 15 November 2021).

             11. Contingent upon final selection, students  will have to submit a legal paper to HEC that he/she                will be obliged

                      i.            not change discipline after final selection for scholarship

                    ii.            right after completion of his/her degree, he/she will come back to Pakistan to serve the country for a period as prescribed by the HEC. Upon failure, HEC reserves the right to recover candidate or penalize his/her guarantor.

12. Candidates must satisfy all other requirements set forth by host Hungarian university/Tempus Public Foundation/HEC.
