New Delhi. The Central Government abolished the VIP quota for Haj pilgrims on Wednesday. In such a situation, now VIP pilgrims will have to travel like common Haj pilgrims. While giving this information, the sources said that along with the President of India, Prime Minister, Vice President, and Minister of Minority Affairs, the VIP quota was allotted to the Haj Committee.
According to the information received, this VIP quota was implemented in the year 2012, for which 500 seats were fixed. Of these, 100 seats were allotted to the President, 75 to the Vice President, 75 to the Prime Minister, 50 to the Minority Affairs Minister, and 200 to the Haj Committee of India. Of these, except 100 seats in the President's quota, all other 400 VIT seats have been canceled. In such a situation, these seats can also be allotted to the common people.
The annual Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia is expected to reach pre-pandemic levels this year after restrictions imposed due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic were eased.
