The Selfish Giant and the Children

The Selfish Giant and the Children

Long ago, there lived a giant who cared only about himself. He had a big, beautiful garden filled with soft green grass. The grass was like a cozy blanket spread all around, and there were many colorful flowers that looked like stars dotting the grass. Different kinds of birds sat on the branches of the garden's trees, singing sweet songs. This garden was a perfect place for the kind and innocent school children to play.

Every day, after finishing their school, the children would come to the garden and play. Their laughter and games made the garden even more wonderful. But one day, the giant noticed the children playing. Because he was selfish, he didn't like seeing them enjoy his garden. He shooed the kids away and told them to never come back. The children felt sad and scared, so they stopped coming to the garden. Because of the giant's actions, something magical happened. The green grass lost its color and became dull, and the flowers stopped blooming. The garden turned into a sad and empty place.

However, there's a twist to this story. There was a special, everlasting being watching over things, like a guardian. This being couldn't stand the giant's unkind behavior. After the sad incident, the garden lost all its beauty – the grass turned brown and the flowers vanished. The giant finally realized his mistake and understood how he had been selfish. He felt sorry for what he did and wanted to make things right.

So, he went to the children and asked for their forgiveness. He invited them to play in his garden once again. The children forgave him and returned to the garden. Their laughter and joy brought back the garden's beauty. The grass turned green again, and the flowers bloomed with vibrant colors. The giant learned that sharing and being kind were much more important than keeping things all to himself. And from that day on, the giant and the children shared the garden happily, making it a truly wonderful place for everyone to enjoy.
