Non PTA Approved Mobile Phones can be used for 120 days

Mobile phones can now be used free of PTA fees for 120 days

The Federal Revenue Board (FBR) and the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) have introduced a temporary registration service for mobile phones brought in from outside Pakistan. This is a system that allows the use of mobile phones for 120 days without paying PTA membership fees.
This new scheme aims to facilitate foreigners' visits to Pakistan. The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Prime Minister Shabazz Sharif, PTA President, Major General Hafeez Rahman and Federal Minister of Information and Communications Technology Saeed Amin-ul-Haq.

Requirements

To take advantage of this promotion, candidates must present the following:

passport number.
A SIM card for your mobile phone.
Date of arrival and date of departure.
Device IMEI number.
After 120 days, your phone will stop working with your local network service.

How this system works

The new service will bring together the Federal Revenue Service (FBR), Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to exchange immigration data governing applicant arrival dates through FIA IBMS. When an applicant requests this service, an immigration officer enters the applicant's details into the system and activates the phone.

The effort reflects the government's efforts to help Pakistanis and other foreigners abroad.
