SSC MTS Department list

The selected candidates are appointed as Multi-Tasking Staff and are responsible for performing various tasks related to general maintenance and support functions in the respective government departments. Let’s discuss the various departments where candidates can be placed after successfully clearing the SSC MTS exam:

  1. Ministries and Departments of the Central Government: Candidates selected through SSC MTS may be posted in various ministries and departments of the central government, such as the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, etc. They can be involved in clerical, administrative, and supportive roles.
  2. Central Secretariat Service (CSS): CSS is a cadre of civil servants working under the Government of India. MTS candidates may be posted in various offices and sections under CSS, assisting in routine office work, file maintenance, data entry, etc.
  3. Armed Forces Headquarters: MTS candidates can be posted in the headquarters of the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force, where they perform support and administrative tasks.
  4. Central Vigilance Commission (CVC): MTS personnel may work in the Central Vigilance Commission, assisting in administrative tasks and supporting the functioning of the commission in ensuring transparency and accountability in government operations.
  5. Intelligence Bureau (IB): Some MTS candidates may be posted in the Intelligence Bureau, where they assist in various administrative tasks and support the intelligence gathering and analysis process.
  6. Postal Departments: MTS candidates may work in various postal circles across India, assisting in sorting and delivering mail, managing the office, and performing other support functions.
