Before making her acting debut, she went to the US to study psychology at Boston University but chose to stop her studies and came back to India and started her acting career. She made her cinematic debut with the play literary Film Teen Patti in 2010. For her performance in the movie, she made a Filmfare Best Female Debut nomination.

A year later she starred in the much-acclaimed film Luv Ya The End. She garnered wide appreciation for her role in the film. She came to reckoning following her portrayal of Arohi Keshav Shirke in the romantic musical film Aashiqui 2 in 2013.

This was thus far her first commercial success endeavor. She received positive reviews from almost all of the film critics and her chemistry with Aditya Roy Kapoor became the talking point of tinsel town. In her next job, Ek Villian besides acting also made her singing debut with the hit song ”Galliyan”. She has sung in almost all her films since then.

Her latest releases include Half Girlfriend and Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai. Her newest released movie Stree was a huge hit and her performance in the film was also praised. Her upcoming movies include Saaho where she is cast opposite Prabhas, Chhichhore, and Street Dancer.

As well as acting in films, this gorgeous actress has become the brand ambassador of numerous prestigious brands like Vaseline, Lakme, Veet, and Dulux Paint. She’s also walked the ramp for various designers in various international film festivals.

Her career didn’t start on a high note but has picked momentum since the release of Aashiqui 2 and is now among the very sought-after actresses from Bollywood. She has also launched her own clothing line in 2015.

Actor Siddhant Kapoor is her brother. She is the niece of famous actresses Tejaswini Kolhapure and Padmini Kolhapure and noted manufacturer Tutu Sharma.
