Saudi analyst believes Tehran-Riyadh agreement will promote regional security

Sa’ad ibn Omar, who is the head of Riyadh-based Al-Qarn research center, made the comment in an interview with the Arabic service of Russia’s Sputnik News Agency.

He said that the statement signed by the Iranian and Saudi foreign ministers in Beijing on Thursday and other agreements they signed are indicative of major progress in the Middle East.

The Saudi Analyst Believes that the Tehran-Riyadh agreement will have an impact on other countries as well, including Iraq, Yemen, and Syria.

The only harm will be inflicted on the Israeli regime which is upset with close relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, he added.

On Thursday, April 6, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud met in the Chinese capital Beijing where they signed a joint statement under which the two countries will reopen embassies on each other’s soil and establish flights.

That followed a deal brokered by China nearly a month ago that called for resumption of diplomatic relations between Tehran and Riyadh after more than seven years.
