Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar have received warnings from the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) about their support of a gutka brand, the Center told the Allahabad High Court on Saturday.

Advocate Motilal Yadav had filed a contempt petition, to which the national government was replying.

Yadav expressed worries in his petition on the involvement of celebrities, particularly those who have received Padma awards, in product endorsements or marketing that may pose a risk to public health in general. 

In August of this year, the Allahabad High Court sent letters to the Chief Commissioner, the CCPA, and the Cabinet Secretary in an attempt to get them to appear in contempt for breaking their order from September 2022.

In response, Deputy Solicitor General SB Pandey notified the Rajesh Singh Chauhan-led High Court bench that Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar had received show cause notices on October 20 of this year.
