Apple’s cyber security team meets with an Indian agency on threat notifications for iPhones

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN), a Cyber Security organization, and Apple’s cyber security team eventually met to discuss the recent notifications that were delivered to a number of well-known iPhone customers in India. Apple received alerts on some opposition party leaders’ iPhones last month, stating that there were “state-sponsored attackers trying to remotely compromise.” Concerns were aroused by this notification about possible government phone hacking.

Following the public posts made by opposition party leaders regarding the alert, Apple’s Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTY), Rajeev Chandrasekhar, said that the company would need to provide an explanation for why it was notifying media outlets and political leaders.

Interestingly, the actual date of this conference was set for the end of November. The person disclosed, “Apple team met CERT-In,” per a PTI report. CERT-In is now required to submit a report based on its discoveries. He made it clear that there is no deadline for CERT-In to turn in this report. Therefore, after the investigation is over, it will deliver.
