Gadkari also discussed his vision for the nation’s farmers, saying that the government wants to make them become “annadata” (food producers) and “urjadata” (energy producers).

In August, according to Gadkari, Toyota will introduce the Innova, a vehicle with a 100 percent flex fuel engine and a 100 percent ethanol fuel tank. Soon, he continued, “all vehicles will run on ethanol produced by farmers.”

In India, molasses, a by-product of sugar production, is used to make ethanol. The country’s ability to grow sugarcane will improve with the use of ethanol as a motor fuel.

According to Nitin Gadkari, the government has created a plan to lessen its reliance on gasoline and diesel in the near future. He continued by saying that he has made steps to end the usage of gasoline and diesel within five years.
