At today’s Rozgar Mela, Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed out approximately 71,000 appointment letters to prospective recruits. Modi spoke to the newly recruited cadets through video conference at 10.30 a.m.

These newly selected recruits will also have the option to further learn and develop themselves through the Karmayogi Prarambhm, an online orientation course for all new recruits in various government ministries.

The Prime Minister welcomed the new recruitment rules in his speech, crediting them with eradicating corruption and nepotism. He congratulated the new recruits and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to youth empowerment. The PM remarked that the creation of the Rozgar Mela demonstrated the government’s determination and commitment to accomplishing that aim.

PM Modi stated that in order to increase employment, Rs. 34 trillion has been invested on capital expenditure and basic utilities. This year’s budget has been allotted Rs. 10 trillion to generate comparable opportunities.

Modi then emphasised the progress made by electrifying 40,000 kilometres of train lines. He emphasised the rapid expansion of the metro rail network, as well as better connectivity between rural areas as a result of efficient road networking.

The PM concluded his speech by encouraging recruits to grasp opportunities and assist the country grow.

The Rozgar Mela is an event that brings together job seekers and businesses in 45 different locations. Employment possibilities are available in both Central Government Departments and State Governments/UTs that support the project.

The PM’s addressees at the occasion, the new recruits, were chosen from all throughout the country. Gramin Dak Sevaks, Principals, Trained Graduate Teachers, Post Inspectors, Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk, Junior Clerk-cum-Typist, Junior Accounts Clerk, Track Maintainer, Assistant Section Officer, Lower Division Clerk, Sub Divisional Officer, Tax Assistant, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Inspectors, Constable, Head Constable, Nursing Officers, Assistant Security Officers, Fireman, Assistant Accounts Officer

The government’s goal with the Rozgar Mela is to prioritise job creation and generation. The Mela aims to empower the country’s youth and, as a result, to develop the nation by providing these youth with opportunities and opening the door for national engagement.  

The Mela is aimed for people aged 18 to 35, with academic qualifications such as 8th/10th/12th Pass, ITI, Diploma, Graduates, and so on. The government reaches out to this group through print advertisements distributed around the country, bulk SMSs delivered to the demographic, Social Media, and other ways.

The government also holds regular workshops at the college and university levels in and around the Rozgar Mela districts to further mobilise the youth and encourage participation.

The Kaushal Mela, which allows youth to enrol for skill development courses, was also held in conjunction with the festival. There were also plans in place for job searchers to receive therapy.
