Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut on Saturday attacked the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government and urged that a sedition case be filed against it, questioning whether the Pulwama terror attack was orchestrated to win the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

After former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik said in an interview that Prime Minister Modi had allegedly discouraged him from speaking about the failures that had contributed to the Pulwama terror attack, Mr. Raut made his comments in Nagpur.

In Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama area in February 2019, a suicide bomber crashed an explosives-laden car into the bus transporting the security guards, killing 40 CRPF members.

According to Mr. Malik’s claims in his interview from last Friday, the CRPF requested aerial transportation for its soldiers since “such a big convoy (78 vehicles carrying over 2,500 personnel) does not travel by road.”
