IRCTC will soon offer a WhatsApp-based online food ordering service

IRCTC intends to soon make its WhatsApp food ordering service available on more Train routes. Irctc will enable a chatbot with artificial intelligence so that passengers on its trains can make food orders through a WhatsApp number or an e-catering service for inquiries, as well as make reservations for meals.

Details about IRCTC will soon offer a WhatsApp-based online food ordering service

Through the WhatsApp number +91 8750001323, the Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) debuted its online meal delivery service on several trains last year. The Railway intends to expand the services over more train routes after receiving feedback on the service.

“On some trains and with some passengers, WhatsApp communication for e-catering services is implemented. The company would implement the same features on other trains based on consumer feedback and ideas “PTI reported the Railways’ statement.

Notably, the IRCTC introduced its e-catering service via the “Food on Track” app and the website Ecatering.irctc.co.in. The first of two phases that make up the installation of the e-catering service using WhatsApp has already been finished.

Travelers who had purchased e-tickets from IRCTC in the first phase got a message from a professional WhatsApp number. They had the choice to opt in for the e-catering service via the SMS. After receiving the message, travellers could use the IRCTC e-catering website to reserve meals of their choosing from specific eateries that were close to their stations. There was no need to download any apps in order to use the direct meal ordering service.

The interactive WhatsApp meal booking and delivery system will now be made available to more travellers on a variety of routes in the second phase. Through the official WhatsApp number, users will be able to manage, ask questions about, and book meals for e-catering services.

The IRCTC’s e-catering service currently provides consumers with about 50,000 meals each day via the website and the app. Train passengers can order meals from their homes before boarding or while on the train thanks to the e-catering service.

It will provide a quick and easy option for passengers to order food while riding the train once it is made available on more lines.

Let’s look at how to use the IRCTC e-catering website to place a food order in the meantime.

Visit ecatering.irctc.co.in to learn how to order food in a train online.

– Type in your PNR number.

– Next, look for nearby restaurants where you may place an order for delivery.

– Place your order and pay at the time of delivery or online if that option is available.

– When you arrive at the station of your choice, the lunch will be brought to you on your seat.
