About College
Established in 1985, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be a University) is ranked among the top health sciences universities in India. The medical college was established by Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust as a private, not-for-profit self-financing institution dedicated to serving society as a centre of excellence.
Further, in September 1994, Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute got the status of “Deemed University”. The college is affiliated with Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education & Research, Chennai, and presently, it has the permission of renewal for admission of 250 seats.
Today, the institute has transformed into a full-fledged Deemed University, and at present, it has twelve constituent colleges:

Eligibility Criteria
Education: Candidate must have passed in 10 + 2 system or higher secondary or senior secondary or Pre Degree Course or its equivalents with subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology / (Botany / Zoology) and English individually and with a minimum of 50% (40% for reserved category students) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/(Botany and Zoology) taken together.

iii. NEET (UG) – 2022 Result/Rank letter
- HSC or Equivalent Mark Statement.
- NRI candidates who have passed the 12th Grade Diploma from the U.S. should have passed the subjects (i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) and English) during their 11th & 12th year of study.
- Candidates with foreign qualifications must submit an equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.

viii. Transfer Certificate / Migration Certificate and Conduct Certificate.
- Copy of Nationality Proof (Passport/PAN Card/Driving Licence/Voter ID original will be returned after verification).

xvi. OCI card holders, even if they opt to come under General Category, have to submit their Passport and OCI card copies, along with originals.
Admission procedure
Step 1: Candidates are required to register for the NEET UG exam at https://ugreg22.tnmedicalonline.co.in/mbbs22/ and qualify for the exam.
Step 2: After qualifying NEET, candidates need to participate in the common counselling by the Directorate General of Health Services/ Medical Counselling Committee (DGHS/MCC) to get the allotment letter given for admission.
Step 3: Candidates selected for admission at Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute, Chennai, should report along with original certificates and a Demand Draft for the prescribed tuition fee and other fees to get the admission confirmation letter.
