Parsley is a biennial and must be started from Seed. It needs rich, well-worked soil, sun, or partial shade.
Plants should be thinned to 8 inches (20 cm) apart.
Besides being used in the kitchen for flavor, it is used in medicine, and in the garden as an insecticide against onion and carrot flies. The perfume industry extracts an essential oil from its seed.
