The RPG Group, a major Indian business conglomerate, has committed to conserving, restoring, and growing one million trees by 2030. This effort is part of a global initiative called 1t.org, supported by the World Economic Forum, with the goal of conserving, restoring, and growing one trillion trees worldwide by 2030.
The RPG Group plans to plant these trees in areas where they operate, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and Rajasthan. Employees from various RPG companies will actively participate in nurturing and growing these trees. The Rpg Foundation, the conglomerate’s CSR arm, will lead this restoration initiative, aiming to benefit both the community and the environment.
Anant Goenka, Vice Chairman of RPG Group, emphasized their commitment to sustainable growth and contributing to the global reforestation efforts. The CEO of RPG Foundation, Radha Goenka, highlighted the alignment of their philanthropic initiatives with Sustainability, focusing on addressing community needs and fostering happier communities.
The decision to conserve and grow trees symbolizes the group’s dedication to a green and clean environment. The RPG Group follows a nature-positive philosophy, reflected in its brand promise of “Hello Happiness.” Various RPG companies have set ambitious goals for reducing carbon footprint, greenhouse gas emissions, and achieving carbon neutrality, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability.
