The company’s ESG practice is aligned with ten key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), emphasizing its commitment to global goals.

Commenting on the ESG practice, Dr Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman, Aster DM Healthcare said,

Our dedication to ESG principles is woven into the fabric of our corporate culture at Aster. We actively integrate sustainable practices into all aspects of our operations, recognizing that our commitment to environmental, social, and governance concerns is a fundamental ethos guiding our journey toward a more sustainable and responsible future. Notably, we have the highest ESG ranking among listed healthcare companies in India, having received a ‘Strong’ rating from CRISIL, as well as numerous awards and recognition from various industry bodies in the GCC. Looking ahead, we remain committed to raising our ESG standards even higher by aiming for a low-carbon, sustainable future. We intend to set new standards for environmental stewardship and social impact. Our goal is to constantly raise the bar, not just meet current standards.

Aster

Aster remains committed to advancing its environmental agenda through the implementation of a three-year plan. The organization has prioritized climate change mitigation, with a goal of reducing 2,000 tons of carbon emissions in India and the Gulf Cooperation Council. It also aims to cut paper consumption by two-thirds across the two geographies, with the ambitious goal of planting 3,500 trees in these areas. Aster also intends to construct a large-scale solar plant on 55 acres in Kasargod that will power seven hospitals in Kerala, India.

In addition to the four regions served by the Aid Program in FY23, two more will be added in FY24. Concurrently, plans call for the establishment of five Tele-Med Centres in the same fiscal year. Aster Volunteers Mobile Medical Services will grow from 32 to 41 units in FY24, covering a wide range of regions. Volunteer engagement aims to increase registered Aster Volunteers by 18% in FY24, with external partnerships playing a critical role in achieving these goals.
