SBI Amplifying the reach of Jansuraksha Schemes as a step toward Financial Inclusion

To promote the Government’s Jansuraksha Schemes, the State Bank of India, the country’s largest public sector bank, hosted a day-long workshop for its Lead District Managers and Nodal officers from various regions. The session aimed to increase employee awareness of the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jhoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) in order to cover every eligible citizen under these schemes.

PMJJBY provides life insurance and PMSBY provides accidental insurance cover of 2.00 lacs each at a modest cost of 436 and 20 per annum, respectively, to cater to financial demands during unforeseen catastrophes. With the assistance of SBI staff, the initiative initiated by the Chief General Manager of Hyderabad Circle, Chief General Manager (FI), and General Manager (FI) Corporate Centre, Mumbai, will focus on increasing public knowledge of these schemes.

The workshop was attended by all of the Lead District Managers (LDMs) assigned to SBI, SLBC officials, and Nodal Officers (Lead Bank) from the states/UTs of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Kerala, and Karnataka.

Jansuraksha Schemes

SBI’s commitment to Financial Inclusion is strengthened by this program. Dr. P.C.Saboo, CGM(FI), stated during the launch, “The Bank’s goal is to cover all eligible citizens under the Jansuraksha Scheme by spreading awareness about these products through SBI’s strong network.”

Shri Rajesh Kumar, CGM, Hyderabad Circle, encouraged participants to provide banking services, including government schemes such as PMJJBY and PMSBY, to all sections of society, particularly the unbanked and under-banked strata, in order to achieve the goal of financial inclusion. Bank staff were directed to successfully run these programs in every Gram Panchayat and Ward across the country.
