Genesis Foundation and Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, Palwal Unite to Address the Alarming Gap in Treating Congenital Heart Defects in Children

Genesis Foundation, one of the foremost non-governmental organizations (NGOs) dedicated to the care of disadvantaged children born with congenital heart abnormalities, is thrilled to announce a critical collaboration with Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, Palwal. Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital is one of the major hospitals dedicated to treating infants with congenital heart defects for free. This collaboration between the largest non-governmental organization and the largest hospital working in this field aims to close the access gap to life-saving treatment for disadvantaged children born with a heart abnormality, making healthcare available to all.

Congenital heart problems are one of the most common birth defects in India, affecting about 200,000 children. Unfortunately, only 25% of these children are now receiving the necessary care. The startling numbers present a bleak image, emphasizing the critical need for collective action and creative solutions.

Most congenital cardiac problems can be cured, and these children can live normal lives, thanks to advances in medical care. However, prompt diagnosis and treatment are crucial. A high proportion of clinics equipped to provide pediatric cardiac care are in the private sector, making treatment costly for a big proportion of families. A few government and nonprofit hospitals, such as Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani, offer fully free cardiac care procedures, but the sheer number of youngsters waiting for treatment places a significant strain on these facilities.

The collaboration is an incredible project that will impact the lives of many children and their families. Sri Sathya Sai Hospital Palwal receives a considerable number of cases from the country’s most distant areas. Genesis Foundation will financially support a few youngsters each month as part of the agreement to ensure they receive the critical medical care they require. This would not only assist to ease the backlog of children awaiting treatment, but will also ensure that children in urgent need of therapy receive it as soon as possible. The agreement demonstrates both organizations’ shared commitment to ensure that no kid is denied crucial care.

“We are excited to work with Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals, Palwal in this noble endeavor,” said Simran Sagar, Operations Director at Genesis Foundation. With so many children in India awaiting treatment, a coordinated strategy is required to reach every child, particularly those living in remote parts of the country where access to pediatric cardiac care facilities remains limited. We are confident that with our combined efforts, many more young lives will be altered.”

“We believe in Healing Hearts and Serving the Unserved,” said Mr. Gaurav Bhardwaj, Trust Officer of Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital Palwal. We provide life-saving cardiac operations at no cost. We look forward to a collaborative paradigm in which more partners can join us in our aim to lower the national burden of this potentially fatal disease. We foresee a collaborative paradigm in which we work together with partners such as Genesis Foundation to reduce the national burden of this life-threatening condition. Together, we bring compassion to life and usher in a healthy, heart-strong tomorrow for everybody.”
