KC Mahindra Education Trust commits scholarships worth Rs 30,000 each for 35 students

KC Mahindra Education Trust – The K. C. Mahindra Education Trust granted the Mahindra All India Talent Scholarships (MAITS) scholarship to 35 students this year out of 202 candidates. 67 students were chosen from applications received in Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh to attend interviews on October 6, 2023, at Swaraj Division in Mohali.

The late Mr. K. C. Mahindra established the K. C. Mahindra Education Trust (KCMET) in 1953 with the goal of promoting literacy and higher learning in the country. In 1995, the Trust developed the Mahindra All India Talent Scholarship, in addition to several other programs.

This scholarship is given to students from low-income households who want to study a job-oriented Diploma course at a recognized Government Polytechnic in India. This Scholarship was created to encourage and support young students from rural and urban areas who are interested in pursuing job-related diplomas.

The Trust awards Rs. 10,000/- every year to 550 students for a maximum of three years. Across India, 11,840 students have earned the award to date.

“The Mahindra All India Talent Scholarship interviews give us an opportunity to directly interact with youth from extremely underprivileged backgrounds,” stated Ms. Sheetal Mehta, Sr Vice President CSR & Trustee, K.C. Mahindra Education Trust. It is both humbling and satisfying to see these students awarded placements in respectable companies three years later. The scholarship’s transforming impact can be seen in their families’ greatly better standard of living afterward. This year, 31 of the 35 students chosen were female. We are confident that all of the scholarship recipients will excel in their chosen fields.”

“We are immensely proud to be a part of this noble initiative,” said Arun Raghav, Vice President (ER, Admin & CSR), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd Swaraj Division. Investing in the education of disadvantaged youth is an investment in our country’s future. These scholarships not only provide financial assistance, but also enable students to pursue their aspirations and reach new heights.
