Corporates engage their employee-volunteers for ‘Yogdaan’ towards positively impacting lives of children through sport

Yogdaan – Employee volunteering has emerged to be a key strategy in leading organizations to positively impact the communities through active team involvement. Even employees show higher commitment towards purpose-driven organizations that also help them embrace a more social aspect of living. As per a survey by Deloitte, 46% of the millennials and Gen Z aspire to contribute to the society/community actively. Sportz Village Foundation’s Yogdaan is one such initiative to help organizations engage its employees towards contributing their time and expertise for #SportForChange programs that are focused on improved educational, health and developmental outcomes in school children.

Yogdaan, we aim to engage more and more corporate employees in our #SportForChange programs currently running across 200+ schools and impacting 50000+ children in India”, said Parminder Gill, Co-Founder & Head, Sportz Village Foundation.

Yogdaan

Yogdaan employee volunteering program involves direct engagement of corporate employees with school children through fun, play/sport-based activities conducted in a structured environment. It can either be embedded within an organization’s CSR program or implemented as an independent employee-driven social impact program. “Keeping in mind work weeks and timings of employees, we have prioritized flexibility in the duration & size of the program – from 1 day event to on-going programs”, Gill said.

As part of Sportz Village Foundations key #SportForChange program, Yogdaan also offers clear visibility of impact on the educational and developmental outcomes of children. Talking about a recently concluded inter-school sporting event as part of KPMG Global Services CSR program, Inderpreet Kaur who manages Corporate Citizenship at KGS said, “All the students were playing like professionals, but what made us proud was the performance of the students who are part of the sports excellence program; they not only won matches but also displayed great coordination, commitment, confidence, and leadership skills. It clearly shows the impact of the structured sports education program Sportz Village Foundation has been running in KGS supported schools. My team and the KGS volunteers were thrilled to be part of the event.” KGS has partnered with Sportz Village Foundation to support a cluster of schools in the Bengaluru region impacting 1500+ children through #SportForChange programs.
