Indian Red Cross Society join hands with Cadila Pharmaceuticals to launch ambitious project of training 50000 students for CPR and First Aid Training

Ahmedabad: First Aid Training – Cadila Pharmaceuticals, a pioneer and one of the largest privately held Pharmaceutical companies in the country, has initiated a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid training program in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Gujarat State branch. The ambitious project aims to train 50,000 students in Ahmedabad and Mehsana to equip them with essential life-saving skills.

The program was launched at Adarsh Gyan Sagar School, Kadi, on January 25th, training over 3000 students through practical demonstrations and sessions during the launch. Notable dignitaries gracing the event were Mr. Vinodbhai Patel, Chairman of Mehsana District Cooperative Bank; Mr. Dharmesh Shah, Provost of Indrashil University; and Representatives Mr. Nareshbhai and Ms. Manishaben Solanki from the Indian Red Cross Society, Gujarat State Branch.

Scheduled to run until March 2024, the initiative is a response to the rising incidents of heart attacks and cardiac arrests in the state. Cadila Pharmaceuticals is committed to creating awareness and ensuring that citizens of tomorrow, students in their formative years from classes 9 to 12 are well equipped to respond effectively in emergencies, potentially saving lives.

First Aid Training

Dr. Bharat Champaneria, Trustee at Indrashil Kaka-Ba and Kala Budh Public Charitable Trust, the charitable arm of Cadila Pharmaceuticals, said, “The incidents of Heart attack and cardiac arrest have increased alarmingly in the state, posing a threat to the lives irrespective of the age bar. We are aligning our efforts with the government of Gujarat’s objectives and aim for a significant contribution to community well-being. Even if a single life is saved because of this initiative, we will consider it a success. In addition to life-saving skills, students will receive career orientation and guidance through Indrashil University”.

This initiative reflects Cadila Pharmaceuticals’ dedication to community health and its collaboration with esteemed organizations to create a lasting impact on the well-being of the people.
