Krauter – Overnight leader Aline Krauter (68) of Germany defeated fellow rookie Sara Kjellker (71) of Sweden to win her first Ladies European Tour event, the Hero Women’s Indian Open, on Sunday at the DLF Golf & Country Club.
Krauter totaled 15-under 273 with rounds of 69-68-68-68, while Kjellker finished second at 10-under with scores of 73-66-68-71. Krauter’s victory meant that the Hero Women’s Indian Open had a German winner for the second year in a row, following Olivia Cowan previous year.
Earlier this year, another German, Marcel Siem, won the men’s Hero Indian Open at the same site. “I knew Olivia won last year, but I just found out Marcel Siem also won the men’s event.” “Clearly, India and this course work for us,” she laughed.
Diksha Dagar, who could have moved to the top of the LET Order of Merit with a win or solo second, gave it her best on the front nine, with five birdies to two bogeys, but the birdie putts did not fall on the back nine.
No Indian has ever won the Order of Merit on the LET, and Diksha has three more events to complete the feat.

Amateur Avani Prashanth (69) tied for fifth place with Sara Kouskova (65) of the Czech Republic, and Gaurika Bishnoi (71), who shared eighth place with Finland’s Noora Komulainen (69).
Overall, ten Indians made the cut, and they all ended tied 36th or better, with three finishing in the top ten.

So that worked pretty well for me, and then my ball striking was terrific, which saved me on this golf course.”

Kjellker was right on Krauter’s tail for the first six holes, with only one shot separating them with 12 holes remaining. Krauter and Kjellker each hit a two-shot swing twice in the first four holes. The duel remained tense after two pars, with Krauter ahead by one stroke.
Krauter’s two-shot overnight lead had been halved by the time the pair stepped off the second green. They were separated by only one stroke until the sixth hole. Krauter secured the deal with three birdies soon before the turn, and Kjellker was showing symptoms of fatigue. In three holes, the German had increased her lead from one stroke to six, which had grown to seven with two holes remaining.
