Ather Energy to make international debut with launch in Nepal

Ather Energy, an Indian electric scooter business, has announced plans to enter the international market by exporting its flagship model, the 450X, to Nepal. By working with Vaidya Energy, a subsidiary of Vaidya’s Organization of Industries & Trading Houses (VOITH), a Nepalese industrial conglomerate, the company will build its first global footprint. The collaboration will result in the establishment of an Experience Centre in Kathmandu in November of this year.

“Ather has pioneered the electric scooter segment in India, and while we continue to grow domestically, we are really excited about expanding our business footprint to international markets,” said Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer of Ather. We’ve had amazing inbound demand from a variety of areas, and Nepal is the first step in our international expansion. We see Nepal’s vehicle sector as a microcosm of the growing worldwide awareness of the importance of moving to cleaner mobility options. We will also roll out our public fast charging infrastructure, which has proven to be a big differentiator for us in India, in accordance with our ecosystem approach to market creation. We are thrilled to be collaborating with Vaidya Group as we enter the Nepal market.

Suryansh Vaidya, CEO of Vaidya Energy, commented on the relationship with Ather, saying, “We believe that mobility should transcend the mundane; it should be an experience that brings joy and thrill to people’s lives.” We are integrating our expertise in premium mobility solutions with Ather Energy’s cutting-edge electric vehicle technology, laying the groundwork for an entirely new level of excitement in the field of mobility. Importantly, our vehicles not only provide an exciting ride, but they also contribute greatly to cost savings, enhanced convenience, and shorter travel times. We commit to developing the entire ecosystem while focusing on the customer experience, whether it is the product itself, its services, or the infrastructure.
