Infosys-Backed Niramaya – Purbanchal’s Seva Bharati, an important social service organization, has a fascinating history. With the commendable purpose of helping the destitute, a non-profit organization attempts to provide free services in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and other districts of North East India.
The organization was created in 1998 in Guwahati, Assam, by a few well-known Assamese social workers with the goal of assisting and mentoring the young, women, and disadvantaged segments of society, particularly the Tribal and Tea Tribes. Its primary goal was to assist adolescents, women, and marginalized communities.
The “Arogya Mitra” project is one of Seva Bharati, Purbanchal’s most fruitful ventures. The primary purpose of the program is to educate society’s youth on the need of building a nationalistic service culture.
This is a modest attempt to promote Health awareness among the poor and teach them how to avoid diseases and their associated causes. The goal of this project is to empower young people by selecting one or two from each rural hamlet to get basic training in the use of homoeopathic and allopathic medicine. These young kids are selected from communities where there are no hospitals or medical specialists.
The “Arogya Mitra” Project’s purpose is to provide primary Healthcare to rural and poor individuals who would otherwise lack access to modern medical facilities and cannot afford to go to the most remote places where there are no doctors.
Infosys-Backed Niramaya
The unreached sector of society will be prioritized by Project Niramaya (Integrated Child and Adolescent Development Action). This project aims to give additional health and educational services to this specific group. To ensure universal access, free health and education services must be built, supported, aided, and facilitated.
In a revolutionary initiative, a new development model is being designed to especially fulfill the needs of children and teenagers living in rural areas. This innovative strategy aims to build a long-term structure to help the targeted young people, with a focus on health and education as major goals.
Recognizing the particular obstacles that rural communities confront, this ambitious project strives to address important issues such as limited access to adequate healthcare and educational opportunities. Another pillar of this development strategy, education, is set to get substantial focus.
The strategy strives to bridge the educational gap and harness the potential of young minds by constructing schools, improving educational infrastructure, and training trained instructors.
Seva Bharati, Purbanchal, launched the Nirmaya initiative in 2017, which was backed by the Foundation for Integrated Support and Solution (FISS), Guwahati, and the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj North East Centre (NIRD & RD, NEC), Guwahati.
This project includes the adoption of 200 villages spread across many Assam districts. For every five villages, one Community Field Officer (CFO) has been deployed.
The major goal is to improve healthcare services in Assam’s designated regions. It makes an effort to provide support to persons who are experiencing difficulty. It also advances the goals of the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM).
