IoT Centre of Excellence Launched at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Delhi under CSR

IoT Centre of Excellence – India is one of the world’s top five economies, and its fastest-growing major economy is based on a strong telecommunications infrastructure. The industry has greatly contributed to this exceptional growth and is leading the country’s digital transformation, keeping India at the forefront of various technological advancements including as 5G, IoT, AI/ML, and so on. 

To assist fulfill its future economic ambitions, India needs a trained workforce to spearhead this shift. Recognizing the importance of developing a skilled workforce to meet changing demands, Vi’s CSR arm, Vodafone Idea Foundation, has collaborated with the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) to establish an IoT Centre of Excellence at the Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women in Delhi.

IoT Centre of Excellence  

The IoT Centre of Excellence will be a cutting-edge training facility for cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, AI/ML, IoT, security, and surveillance. The comprehensive curriculum of the Centre will provide engineering students, particularly women, with the knowledge and practical skills needed to flourish in the digital world.

Balaji, Director, Vodafone Idea Foundation and Chief Regulatory & Corporate Affairs Officer, VIL, stated of the program, “India is set to further solidify its global position as one of the world’s top five economies and the fastest growing major economy.” The country’s demographic dividend gives it an advantage in terms of technological innovation, becoming a manufacturing centre, and developing a talent pool for the rest of the globe. It is critical that the children develop the necessary abilities in order to capitalize on this opportunity. As India leads the digitalisation trend with emerging new technologies such as 5G, IoT, AI, and so on, we have taken an essential step in developing the necessary skill sets to give Indian youngsters an advantage. We are thrilled to be working with TSSC.

The IoT Centre of Excellence hopes to serve 300 students this year through a combination of online and offline training programs. The projects available at the Centre include LED Blinking using GPIO, Simple LED Programming using Arduino Module, Seven-Segment Display Implementation, Boom Barrier Unit for security and traffic management, and data analysis from various sensors.
