Highest monthly Steel production – In January 2023, the Steel Authority of India Limited produced the most hot metal, crude steel, and saleable steel ever, earning acclaim from the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.

SAIL, a steel PSU, set monthly production records for hot metal, crude steel, and saleable steel with 1.8 million tonnes (MT), 1.72 million tonnes (MT), and 1.61 million tonnes (MT), respectively. Production of crude steel grew by 5.8%, breaking previous records.
