Google Chrome to allow Android users to erase 15 minutes of browser history

Recent code changes discovered on Chromium Gerrit indicate that Google Chrome may soon add a “fast delete” feature to its Android app. According to 9to5 Google, users would be able to immediately remove their 15-minute cache and browsing history.

Chrome now offers the following settings on the desktop version of the browser: Last hour, 24 hours, 7 days, 4 weeks, and all time. Android users will have even more ease and control over their browser history thanks to the 15-minute option. The function is anticipated to be included in the currently in construction new version of Chrome for Android.

Users will be able to more easily protect personal information by using the quick erase option to wipe all browsing history from the last 15 minutes in a matter of seconds. Similar to the “incognito mode” on the desktop version, the process also gives users more control by letting them remove their history and cookies independently.

It is a positive development that the rapid delete option has been included because it is crucial for consumers to maintain control over the material they publish online. In addition to privacy concerns, there are safety concerns involved. Given that Google Chrome is the most widely used online browser, many users will gain from having quick and simple data deletion options.

It will be especially helpful in situations where someone borrows another user’s phone for a short period of time before returning it to them. Instead than tampering with the history and cookies of the original users, they can just remove the previous 15 minutes of history.

The quick deletion feature may also be accessible on the iOS version of the Chrome browser, according to some reports, but this has not yet been confirmed.

The rapid erase feature will be available for Android users in the upcoming Google Chrome release. Since Google Chrome is one of the most popular browsers, it is anticipated to provide users more control over their personal data and improve their platform experience.
