The analysis made clear that for 2022 to surpass all previous records for domestic box office gross receipts, films opening in December must earn at least Rs 1,197 crore. The report stated that as of the publication date (2022), “the Rs 10,000 crore threshold has already been achieved with the success of Avatar: The Way Of Water.”
