GlaxoSmithKline Asia and Sevamob partner

The makers of Sensodyne, GlaxoSmithKline Asia Private Limited, developed a primary healthcare mobile van in Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh, in collaboration with the health department, the government of the state, and Sevamob (an NGO). Dr. Mukta Rastogi, Block Medical Officer, Nalagarh, launched this initiative in front of Mr. Kewal Krishna, Health Superintendent, Nalagarh, as well as representatives from GlaxoSmithKline Asia Private Limited and Sevamob.

The program’s goal is to make primary healthcare services more widely available to local populations. The camps will receive financial support from Sensodyne manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline Asia Private Limited as part of its CSR programme. Sevamob will run more than 250 free primary healthcare camps each month throughout the district as part of this programme. Over the course of the following year, each camp will offer access to healthcare services to more than 19000 people, or more than 70 patients every day. These camps will be directed by licensed MBBS physicians and skilled nurses. Patients will have health examinations by doctors. Patients who attend the camp will be given free medications from the mobile van, as well as eyeglasses if necessary and per a doctor’s prescription.
