India rise to 48th place in ICAO aviation safety ranking

ICAO aviation safety ranking – According to DGCA officials, India has moved up to position 48 in the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) list of the world’s aviation safety.

The nation held the 102nd place ranking four years ago.

According to the officials, Singapore is at the top of the list, followed by the UAE and South Korea in second and third place, respectively.

They also noted that China was in 49th place.

From November 9 to November 16, an ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission (ICVM) was conducted as part of its Continuous Monitoring Approach for its Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program.

Arun Kumar, the head of the DGCA, told PTI on Saturday that the effects of the regulator’s tireless efforts to improve India’s safety rating are now evident. “Hopefully, we will remain vigilant and continue to get better.”

According to the officials, the nation now has an effective implementation score of 85.49 percent for critical safety components.

The audit, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), was done in the areas of regulation, administration, individual licencing, operations, airworthiness, and aerodromes on November 16.
