Indo-French Chamber launches CSR Initiative
Indo-French Chamber – Over 100 business leaders from leading French and Indian companies attended the event on November 23, 2022, at the Hyatt Regency in New Delhi.
The Conclave, which was organized by the Chamber’s CSR committee, featured CSR initiatives from leading French companies operating in India and honored their efforts by presenting prizes for the best CSR projects. Prize categories were based on business-based social purpose, innovative CSR initiatives that supported the company’s corporate mission, a clear theory of change, impact, and measurement, and concentrated efforts, such as employee volunteering. A CXO Panel Discussion entitled “From CSR to ESG – Decoding ESG” was also held as part of the event, demonstrating the importance of ESG in India.

“I am extremely proud to highlight the commendable efforts of French companies towards further boosting their CSR activities in India, across fields such as education, sustainability, healthcare, skilling, and more,” said His Excellency, Emmanuel Lenain, the French Ambassador to India on this occasion. This pledge demonstrates that French businesses in India are here for the long haul and actively contribute to the social and economic growth of India as both of our economies recover from a two-year epidemic.

French companies have committed to donating CSR funding in SDG sectors specified by Niti Aayog in this effort, after the French Solidarity mission, which will bring together 60+ French companies in 2021. In 2021, when the second wave of COVID-19 swept throughout India, France arrived to assist India at the request of the French President and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“IFCCI is proud to launch its CSR Initiative, which is the need of the hour to promote responsible CSR as a combined showcase of French companies in India,” said Payal S. Kanwar, director general of IFCCI. Governments, businesses, NGOs, communities, and other interested parties who are dedicated to generating an impact through inclusive CSR will all be made possible by the initiative.
