Godrej Interio reveals revenues from green products 

The Godrej Group’s flagship company, Godrej & Boyce, reported that the demand for environmentally friendly products has increased, with 47% of revenues coming from Good & Green products in FY23. Godrej Interio is India’s top furniture solutions brand in the home and institutional segments. 41% of Godrej Interio’s revenue during the most recent fiscal year came from the company’s Good & Green products. Godrej & Boyce hopes that sales of Good & Green products will account for one-third of its annual revenue.

Ahead of the corporate commitment deadline of 2030, Godrej Interio has pledged to quadruple its energy productivity by that year and to install an energy management system (EMS) in each of its manufacturing facilities by 2024. Additionally, even with the construction of a new facility in Khalapur, Godrej Interio has decreased its specific energy usage by 37% based on the baseline of the Good & Green Vision of FY 2010–11. By 2030, the corporation intends to invest INR 50 crore in renewable energy projects.

Similar to this, Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) or Effluent Treatment Plants are used in Godrej Interio’s facilities to recycle water (ETP). Through the application of cutting-edge technologies like reverse osmosis in Khalapur, Chennai, and Bhagwanpur, the water recycled through ETP is rendered process ready for reuse in the manufacturing processes. A total of 69,907 Kiloliters of water, or 40% of the freshwater used in all of Interio’s manufacturing facilities, were recycled and reused in FY2021-22. The brand intends to increase this percentage in the upcoming years by adding significant levels. Recycled water used in various processes accounts for 28% of the total water used at Godrej Interio.

Godrej Interio can help advance this commitment by setting the example for wiser energy use.

As part of EP100, Godrej & Boyce also pledged to double energy productivity by 2030 and further to cut carbon intensity by 60% by the same year. in keeping with Godrej & Boyce’s dedication to a sustainable planet and social change.

Rooftop solar panel installations at the manufacturing facilities in Shirwal and Haridwar are 360 kW and 329 kW, respectively. 13% of the total energy consumed by Godrej Interio comes from renewable sources. The ISO 50001:2018 certification is valid for the facilities in Vikhroli, Shirwal, Bhagwanpur, Chennai, and Haridwar. This will contribute to a further decrease in energy use.
