IIM Calcutta tops Best B-schools Survey 2022
India’s top business school, Indian Institute of Management, IIM Calcutta (IIMC), has maintained its top spot in the BT-MDRA India’s Best B-schools Survey for this year with an overall score of 902.8 out of 1,000, while IIM Ahmedabad has maintained its second place with an overall score of 900.2. The top 11 business schools from the previous year have kept their places, while just modest movement has occurred among the following 50. This year, a record 281 institutes participated in the eagerly anticipated poll.

The top and poorest B-schools had scores that differed by 622.9 points overall. With a score of 279.9, Kolkata-based IMS Business School came in last.

Five main factors—learning experience, living experience, placement performance, selection process, governance & establishment, and future orientation—are used to determine rankings.
S.P. Jain Institute of Management, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, and Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad are among the top schools this year. The study placed Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai in second, third, fourth, and fifth place.
IIMC was voted #1 in the poll the previous year as well, when a record-breaking 305 institutes participated in the three-month exercise. In 2021, IIMC had edged out IIMA by a mere 0.1 points (897.2 to IIMA’s 897.1).
