Blinkit launches silent store in Delhi

Online grocer Blinkit has announced the establishment of its first “silent” store in East Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar. This store is distinctive since it is run by 20 persons with disabilities who are mute and unable to speak. With this change, the startup hopes to make its systems more “inclusive and accessible.” “Each of them creates work of the greatest calibre and is aware of our group’s goal. The business stated in a blog post on Tuesday that this innovative effort in our ecosystem intends to enhance professional options for persons with disabilities. The company’s co-founder and CEO, Albinder Dhindsa, also announced the announcement on Twitter.

The company partnered with Dr Reddy’s Foundation and Sarthak Educational Trust to open this quiet store. The online grocery store claimed that the Laxmi Nagar location had inspired them to look for further opportunities that take expertise demonstrated in a variety of methods into account. “The Laxmi Nagar store reminds us that there is always more room to be inclusive, and the sheer curiosity, passion, and liveliness of the Hearing Impaired community has rekindled our resolve to do more and offer more opportunities that are accessible to everyone,” the blog stated. Currently, Blinkit, previously Grofers, runs over 400 locations across 25 Indian cities.
