WeWork announces 10-day ‘Diwali vacation’

WeWork, a provider of office space, has announced an extended holiday vacation for its staff in India. During this 10-day holiday, workers are urged to unplug and enjoy with their loved ones. The business has stated that it places a high priority on its employees’ mental health and wellbeing.

WeWork stated that it prioritises work-life integration, flexibility, and sharing holiday pleasure. The business claimed that its goal is to provide staff members a chance to take a break from their hectic schedules and renew themselves by spending quality time with their loved ones over the holiday season.

According to the corporation, as part of its employee-first policies, this programme was initially introduced in 2021.

WeWork’s Chief People and Culture Officer, Priti Shetty, stated that so far in 2022, “2022 has been a memorable year for us, as our business has strengthened and surpassed all internal goals set for workers’ and members’ experience. Our brand’s success is a direct outcome of the effort our coworkers put forward. The 10-day vacation is an expression of appreciation for each WeWork employee’s entrepreneurial spirit. We decided to create the 10-day holiday for Diwali into an annual tradition because we believe that setting aside time to refresh and reenergize oneself is essential.

WeWork India also provides programmes like wellness leave, employee assistance programmes with access to professional counselling, impact leave for volunteer work, workations, inclusive medical insurance policies, a purpose-driven employee resource group culture to support diversity, and a further education programme, among others. These are in addition to the lengthy break mentioned above.

Before that, the online shop Meesho announced that from October 22 to November 1, its workforce would take an 11-day “reset and refresh” break. The business said that this ground-breaking programme will allow “Meeshoites to completely disengage from work and prioritise their mental well-being” during the busy holiday shopping season.

Over 5 million square feet of real estate have been acquired by WeWork in 40 locations in the NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad.
