Gautam Adani to invest Rs 65,000 cr in Rajasthan

Gautam Adani to invest in Rajasthan

Asia’s richest man, Gautam Adani, announced on Friday that he will spend Rs 65,000 crore in Rajasthan over the following five to seven years to construct a large 10,000 MW solar power project, expand a cement factory, and modernise Jaipur Airport.

The ports-to-energy conglomerate owned by Adani is investing in city gas infrastructure to sell CNG to cars and piped gas to homes and businesses, as well as transmission lines for renewable energy.

At the Invest Rajasthan 2022 Summit, he asserted that the Adani corporation already has a large footprint in the region. It manages a thermal power plant, constructed a solar park, and gives coal to the state’s power plants.

The Adani Group would spend Rs 50,000 crore to boost the capacity of producing renewable energy by 10,000 megawatts.

He said that the company had just a week earlier successfully commercialized the largest wind-solar hybrid power plant in Rajasthan and that “this will be gradually commissioned over the next five years.”

Additionally, it intends to treble its capacity for cement production after purchasing ACC and Ambuja Cements.

“Rajasthan will continue to be essential to our capacity expansion even though we now possess three cement plants and assets for mining limestone. In order to improve the state’s capacity to produce cement, we intend to invest an extra Rs 7,000 crore “he added.

He further mentioned that the Group also runs the expanded Jaipur airport.

Additionally, Adani would create a network to deliver piped natural gas and compressed natural gas (CNG) to consumers in the industrial, commercial, transportation, and residential sectors. Additionally, Adani would establish new transmission projects to move the generated renewable energy.

It intends to improve the capacity for producing green hydrogen, a fuel that may be used to power both factories and cars. In order to produce green hydrogen, it plans to split water using renewable energy.

Adani asserted that the company is betting on green hydrogen since it can manufacture solar and wind energy at the lowest possible cost. I believe that no other state has the opportunity as Rajasthan does to manufacture green hydrogen and transform the deserts of Rajasthan into “an oasis of jobs facilitating energy transformation.”

The industrial sectors of Rajasthan have already brought in more than Rs 35,000 crore for his organisation.

Adani Group produces coal for more than 4,300 MW of state thermal facilities.

It also manages high-voltage transmission lines, a dry port container terminal in Kishangarh, two companies that make edible oils in Alwar and Bundi, as well as other infrastructure.
