International CSR and Sustainability Summit 2022 defines net zero with The ZERO Shift

International CSR and Sustainability Summit 2022

Over 300 C-suite level executives, corporate leaders, and CSR practitioners from 19 nations gathered at the International CSR and Sustainability Summit 2022. The ICS Summit, organised by regional NGO Enterprise Asia, brings together top CSR leaders and practitioners to forge new alliances, exchange knowledge and insights, and pinpoint regional opportunities to mould Asia into a more responsible, sustainable, and forward-thinking socioeconomic market.

This year’s virtual summit, with the theme “The ZERO Shift,” gave top thought leaders and CSR practitioners a platform to discuss how to apply the NetZero approach to every aspect of sustainability in order to achieve zero emissions, zero waste, and zero inequity.

“We must work together to adhere to E.S.G. — environmental, social, and governance — to develop a stable world along with rapid economic advancement; and coherent and transparent E.S.G. reporting will contribute greatly to zero emissions, zero waste, and zero inequality,” said Tan Sri Dr. Fong Chan Onn, chairman of Enterprise Asia, at the summit’s opening.

ESG: Trends, Expectations, and What’s Next for 2022 was one of the topics covered in the virtual summit. Speakers Dr. Niven Huang, Olivier Trecco, Monica Bae, and Dr. Allinnettes Adigue urged businesses to embrace the change and to live and breathe ESG, while also emphasizing that ESG reporting needed to be sincere and credible and that boards needed to truly support sustainability and be aware of greenwashing.

In addition to this, the virtual summit also addressed the topic of “Multi Stakeholder Impact: Enabling Zero Emission, Zero Wastes, and Zero Inequality Through Multi-Alliances and Partnerships,” where speakers Lt. General Sudhir Sharma, Ben Kellard, Ivy Kuo, Anirban Ghosh, and Dr. Mushtaq Memon discussed how the world is too far behind in its climate targets in the race to zero and how we must accelerate in decarbonization.

The Global Reporting Initiative, India CSR Network, Malaysian Business Council of Cambodia (MBCC), Malaysia Green Technology and Climate Change Corp. (MGTC), National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (NIEI), Singapore-Thai Chamber of Commerce, Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE), and Bangkok Post are the media partners for the ICS 2022. BusinessWorld, Commercial Times, Hong Kong Economic Times, Kumparan, SME Magazine, and Ethisphere are the sponsors of the ICS 2022.
