Eligibility Requirements for NRI Quota MBBS Admission

Here are those eligibility criteria:
- You must hold a valid passport
- You must have passed 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB)
- You must have passed these subjects (PCB) individually and must have obtained at least 50% of marks taken together in PCB (40% in the case of SC/ST/OBC).
- You must have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.
- You must have appeared in NEET-UG entrance exam and must secure the minimum eligibility score.
And lastly, you must have applied for the counselling that is conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) if you want to get direct MBBS admission in Karnataka or for Deemed Medical Colleges or Universities like JSS Medical College Mysore, KLE University – Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Belgaum etc., you must register for MCC (Medical Counselling Committee).

NRI Quota MBBS Admission Process
Popular medical courses like MBBS, BDS and other courses on UG are in high demand among students after 12th standard and to pursue medical education, you need to qualify the NEET UG Exam.
The NEET-UG Exam, medical education rules and guidelines are administered and approved by the National Medical Commission of India (NMC). The MCC of DGHS and State Competent Authorities allots the seats in the various colleges for MBBS Admission on the basis of the score/ranking category of the students NEET Exam.
These MBBS Admission seats are divided into All-India Quota and State Quota, 15% of the MBBS seats belonging to the All-India Quota and remaining 85% to the State Quota. (For students residing in India).
Apart from the All-India Quota and the State Quota, there is also a 15% special quota for NRI (Non Resident Indian) students called the NRI Quota reserved by NMC for students who live and study outside India but originally belong to the country.
The NRI Quota also includes People of Indian origin (POI) and Overseas Indian Citizens (OCI). However, NRI Quota Student still need to qualify the NEET UG Exam for MBBS admission in India.
After Qualifying NEET-UG Exam you need to apply for the counselling process either in All India Medical Counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) or State Counselling conducted by the respective States.
