WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO SEND YOUR CHILD TO PLAYSCHOOL

As the child grows and is near to cross age 3, parents worry about their Preschool education. They worry in the sense that they are confused. Confused about at what age they should send their child to preschool, whether is this the right age to send their children, will they be able to manage, and many more.

To send your child to preschool is a big decision. There are so many factors that parents consider while taking their final call. Factors such as the child’s emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development. These all help parents to decide whether their child is ready for preschool or not. There are many junior kindergartens in Surrey

In this blog, we are going to focus on some of the things that tell you the readiness of your child for preschool. Let’s get started.

  1. Routine

Does your child have the habit of doing things at any particular time? Your child should do the things like studying, playing, nap at the scheduled time. If he does not have this habit, you should start making him do things in time. You can make him practice things like having meals on time and sleeping on time with storytelling. It will help your child to get ready for the preschool schedule.

  1. Physical stamina

Preschool is the best place for the child to interact and explore things. In preschool, children do many physical and mental activities that require good stamina. Observe your child if he can do different physical and other activities easily. To increase stamina, the child must take a proper nap. Some schools schedule nap time after lunch for children.

  1. Independence

Preschoolers need to be independent means they should do their age tasks independently. If your child completes the art or any task on his own, he is ready for preschool.

It is good if your child does not need your help to complete his task and is curious to know more every time. Parents also should let the child do some easy work to boost their self-confidence and reward them. Rewards will make the child do things again and in a much better way.

  1. Communication skills

This is the most important factor to consider while sending your child to preschool. The child must be able to express himself as no preschooler can speak perfectly.

The preschooler should hear the instructions and understand them properly.  They do not speak in large sentences. People can understand what they are saying in their 3-4 word sentences.

If your child speaks and people around him get him, then he is ready for preschool.

  1. Can spend time apart

Toddlers do not have the habit of staying alone without their parents before. It can be very disturbing for them at least in the starting. These small children have never stayed away from their parents for this long. It will be difficult for them to adjust to the environment.

To deal with this situation, you can make your child stay at relatives' place for some time once a week. You can let your child play with siblings or friends. This will help in a smooth transition, adjusting to a new environment, making new friends, etc.

  1. Self-care

You should train your child for self-care. The child at least knows to wash his hands, tell the teacher or parents if he wants to use the washroom, etc. These small things should be taught in the home.

This will help your child to adjust outside the home. These tasks are easy to grasp for children and will make the whole preschool process easy.

Wrapping it up

3 years of age is considered to be the right age to send the child to preschool. But the right age is when parents think that they can send their child. You can consider the points that we have mentioned above, it will help you a lot to decide on sending your child to preschool.
