Q. Is swimming necessary for cabin crew?

A. When being recruited, no swimming test is done. However, aspirants are required to learn swimming before they board their first flight. Also, at the time of cabin crew license training, one needs to prove that they are not afraid of water and if the need so arises then they can swim as well.

Q. Do air hostesses get paid well?

A. Although it is considered a glamorous field, candidates in air hostess job profile are not paid too well in the first few years of joining the profession. However, as flying hours of candidates increase their salaries also increase. The average salary earned by air hostesses/ flight stewards in India is Rs 4,86,082.

Q. How many hours can cabin crew work?

A. The maximum duty hours that can be undertaken by cabin crew is fixed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The maximum duty period is 22 hours in long haul flights. As per DGCA, cabin crew shall not undertake any “duty between 12 AM and 5 AM local time for two consecutive nights except once within a period of 168 hours/7 consecutive days

To become Cabin Crew, the candidate has to follow following Admission Process:-

  • To join Cabin Crew program a candidate should fill the form of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Common Entrance Test (AME CET).
  • After clearing AME CET Exam, based on the All India Rank (AIR) of AME CET they will get up to 100% scholarship and admission in one of the top cabin crew institutes in India.

Cabin Crew Course Fee in India

A cabin crew fee is tentatively INR 1 Lakhs to 1.5 Lakhs for the complete course depending on the institute. After the completion of course student will get certificate in the field of Cabin Crew.
