Details:

For the academic year 2023–2024, there is a current call for up to ten (10) unique residential fellowships, each lasting between three and twelve months. The start date of a fellowship is typically flexible, however we strongly advise choosing one of the following dates: the first of June 2023, the first of August 2023, or the first of January 2024. The 31st of July 2024 is the earliest possible date for a fellowship to end.

The chosen candidates are appointed as MIASA fellows, with all associated responsibilities and rights for the proposed funding period.

According to the principle of “no loss, no gain,” MIASA will pay the salary or substitute teaching costs for fellows linked with a home institution for each full fellowship month. Payment will be made directly to the fellow’s home institution. An individual award based on the candidate’s pay at his or her home institution may be offered in circumstances when this is not practicable.

Based on a case-by-case justification, fellows may be qualified for a post adjustment to make up for the difference in the cost of living.

Additionally, all MIASA fellows may request a contribution to support research done at MIASA, up to a maximum of €250 per fellow each month.
