AMU school organizes several events under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

ALIGARH : The Aligarh Muslim University City Girls’ High School organized a three-week Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme that also marked the campaigns like Veeron Ka Vandan, Meri Maati Mera Desh and Selfie with Tiranga. Several events organized as part of the programme included Debate, Fancy Dress, Diya Making, Poster Making and Slogan Writing, and Quiz competitions. A panel discussion on Unsung Heroes of our Country and plantation drive also featured in activities that took place during the celebrations.

In the Debate Competition, first Prize went to Mehwish (X-B) while Faiza Shakeel (X-A) won the second prize and Afifa (X-B) got the consolation prize.

The team of Mehwish and Arpana Bhardwaj (X-B) got the first prize in Fancy Dress Competition, while Mani Saraswat and Radhika Sharma (VI-C) won the second prize and Daniya Rafeeq and Ghosiya Nahid (IV-A) received the third prize. Tarfiya (VII-B), Saleena Dilshad (IX-A) and Aliya (V-B) for the consolation prizes.

In Diya Making competition at primary level, the first prize was won by Alisha Zaheer (V-B), second prize by Sana (V-A) and consolation prize by Iqra Irshad (IV-A). On middle level, Kulsum Shahid (VII-A) won the first prize, Ayesha Nazim (VII-A) second prize and Mani Sarawat (VI-C) the third prize. At senior level, the first prize went to Arsheen (IX-A), second prize to Deeksha (IX-B) and third prize to Alfiya (VIII-A).

Swaleha Asif (II-B), Areeba (II-A) and Zoha Fatima (V-B) won the first, second and thid prizes, respectively at primary level in Poster and Slogan Writing Competition, while at middle level, the first, second and third prizes, respectively went to Yusra Suhail (VI-B), Hiba (VIII-A) and Ayesha Nazim (VII-A). At the senior level, Ilma Iftiqar (IX-A), Afreen (X-B) and Zuareen (X-B) respectively got the first, second and third prizes.

In the Quiz competition, held on ‘Development of Border Regions’, the team of Mehwish (X-B), Laiba (X-A) and Aleena (X-B) emerged as the winner.

A plantation drive with Mitti Kalash was held by collecting soil from seven villages and mixing it to denote national integration and love for motherland. Principal of the school, Dr. Md. Alamgir planted Hibiscus plant in the golden Mitti Kalash (earthen pot).

The school also organized a Swachhta drive with the participation of large number of students.

Later on, certificate of participation was given to all the students who participated in various events.
