Joint Admission test for Masters (JAM) has been established as a benchmark for the undergraduate level science education in the country for the last two decades.

Eligibility : 

• Candidates who have completed an undergraduate degree or currently studying in the final

                year of undergraduate programme are eligible to apply for JAM 2024 Examination.

• Foreign Nationals with Indian degrees are eligible to apply, subject to the policy of the Admitting Institute.
• Candidates who qualify in JAM 2024 will be eligible to apply for admission to the Academic programmes of the Admitting Institutes subject to satisfying the Eligibility Requirements (ERs) and Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs).

JAM 2024 Examination will be conducted in 7 subjects, also referred to as Test Papers

Application Procedure  :  Start Date : September 5, 2023  ; End Date : October 13, 2023 

Candidates applying for JAM 2024 have to do it through the JAM Online application Processing System (JOAPS) . Candidates have to first register on JOAPS website, by providing their name, a valid e-mail address, an active mobile number and setting a password. Upon successful registration, the candidate’s Enrolment ID and OTP will be sent to the e-mail address and mobile number provided by the candidate. The candidate needs to use this Enrolment ID or e-mail address along with the password for submitting the application. JAM 2024 registration starts from 5th Sep 2023 

• Apply for the examination online
• Upload photograph , signature and other documents like certificate (for OBC – NCL / EWS/ SC / ST/ PwD)
• Pay the application fee through any of the Electronic payment modes.
• Check the status of the application form once approved  access the portal for download of Admit Card

All Others                                                             : Rs 1,800/- ( for 1 test Paper)  & Rs 2,500 /- ( 2 test Papers)

Admitting Institutes : 

There are around 3000 seats in postgraduate programmes at 21 IITs for the academic year 2024-25. JAM 2024 score will be used to admit the candidates subject to satisfying the Eligibility Requirements (ER)s and Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs) and any other necessary requirements , without any additional interview or written test.  JAM 2024 Score is also likely to be used by IISc Bengaluru, IISERs, IIPE, JNCASR, and CFTIs such as NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, DIAT and CCMN.

About II JAM Exam 

It is a Computer Based Test in SEVEN Test Papers at the undergraduate level

Test Papers consist of (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions.

Candidates may appear in ONE or TWO Test Papers. For two test papers, the second paper must be carefully selected to avoid session clash.

Candidates in merit list are eligible for admission to around 3000 seats in various postgraduate programmes at IITs.
