In This Blog we are going to discuss about the Challenges in AFCAT SSB.After clearing the written test of AFCAT then comes SSB. The AirForce SSB centres are in Dehradun, Mysore, Varanasi, Guwahati and Gandhinagar.
First Challenge-The ratio of screen out is 84 -85 % on the first day, which is for the other entries are 75%. But the major part which is OIR is more challenging as the questions relating to cubs are more, specially the questions relating to mirrors, cubes are included in set B non verbal section.
Second Challenge-The second challenge is of more mirror image based questions. Often the correctly attempted one are less or the incomplete OIRs are seen. Since they prepared well, on an average they are good in narration being good on discussion. Even then most of them are screened out.
Third Challenge-Let’s suppose if the candidate is screened in, even then there are many challenges in front of them. Though they are good in GTO part, the problem is faced in psychological tests. Because the experienced which is carried by them is used to manipulate the stories formed by them. AFCAT aspirants write preconceived ideas in the stories. The TAT is the test of imagination of unconscious mind. The SRTs reveals the ideas of conscious mind. WAT is a test of your subconscious mind. The stories which they carry from a coaching institute by a judgement of correct story or incorrect story, then the stimulus which is shown is not the base of his story.
Fourth Challenge -The interview section is also a weak section For AFCAT entry candidates. The comfortability on the face is missing. They are engage in answering the questions. But they are not ready to interact with the interviewer.The facial expression is not good. They seem to be over stressed. The knowledge about the AirForce organisation is not enough. If you are going to join air force then you must know about the commands and the basic structure or formation etc. They are unable to justify the answers to the questions given by him, such as Why air force? Why there is a drop in percentage? Why you had changed your stream? Though you have carried your graduation, why not looked for other careers? Why looking for Air force at this stage? The responses are acknowledged.
Fifith Challenge-It is one of the biggest myths that the repeaters are having less chances and fresher’s are having more. Every SSB is a fresh SSB. Every time there is different assessment. Never fear of fallen down, but keep in mind how good you bounce back. Keep three things in mind
- How quickly you bounce back
- How effectively you bounce back
- How confidently you bounce back
