Brigadier Amar Narayan has over 38 years service in Indian Army. He joined National Defence Academy in Jun 1981 and was commissioned in Army air defence branch in June 1985. He has served in various challenging assignments during his long and illustrious carreer to include Siachen Glacier, counter insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir and counter militancy operations in Assam. He commanded Air Defence Regiment in Jammu and Kashmir and later the elite Air Defence Brigade. He also held the prestigious appointment of commandent Army Air Defence Centre which is responsible to train all the recruits who join the Corps of Indian Army Defence.
