Judge issued a restraining order Tuesday after Donald Trump attacked the judge's law clerk on social media and in comments to reporters covering his New York business fraud trial.
Judge Arthur Engoron said, "Personal attacks on members of my court staff are unacceptable. Consider this statement a gag order preventing all parties from posting, emailing or speaking publicly about any of my staff."
Trump used his social media platform, Truth Social, to verbally admonish a member of the judge's staff for claiming that clerk Allison Greenfield is Chuck Schumer's girlfriend.
Trump also posted a photo of Allison Greenfield on Truth Social that depicted the clerk Allison Greenfield smiling with Chuck Schumer.
In response, the judge presiding over the case, Manhattan Supreme Court Arthur Engoron issued a limited restraining order and threatened to impose "severe sanctions" on Trump if he did not stop posting about the case.
